Dear FIBA Members,

Happy New Year!

I hope that you all enjoyed a restful and joyous holiday. As we stand on the threshold of 2024, I am thrilled to extend my warmest wishes to each and every one of you as your new Chair. I am humbled by the strong support and well wishes that I have received and it is with immense gratitude and enthusiasm that I embark on this journey.

FIBA, as a beacon of excellence in the international financial services industry, has continually strived to provide best-in-class training, certifications, thought leadership and effective advocacy. As we look to the year ahead, I am inspired by the strength of our membership and the far-reaching impact of our organization. Our core missions, rooted in education and advocacy, remain pivotal.

This year is a special year as we celebrate our 45th anniversary. I am reminded of our incredible legacy and our contributions to the international financial services industry since our inception. In 2024, I envision FIBA as a catalyst for transformative change as we lead the way in shaping the future of our industry and fostering a united front within the international community. As a respected voice, FIBA’s impact on regulation and legislation reaches far and wide.

Let us build on FIBA’s rich legacy, unified in purpose and committed to the pursuit of excellence. Our membership has evolved over the years to now include everyone from community banks and Fintech to the largest global financial institutions and non-financial organizations, who all play a crucial role in advancing our industry.

I look forward to working closely with our executive committee, board of directors, management and committee chairs to advance our mission and contribute to FIBA’s success in 2024 and beyond.

Wishing you and your teams a year of prosperity, growth and unparalleled success.

Warmest regards,

Ivan A. Garces

2024 FIBA Chair
